I having a problem burning and not sure why. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have benn using Decrypter to rip and then Shrink to get to the correct size for DVD-5. However, whenever Shrink kicks off decrypter to burn onto my blank media, it will typically burn about 30% of the disc and then just freeze my computer.

I have worked around this problem by outputing only the ISO file from Shrink and then burning with UltraISO. I never have a problem when I do that but always have a problem when I have shrink use decrypter as the burner.

I'm using Verbs for my discs and have not noticed any other type of problems. Any suggestions or explanations would be appreciated.

Do you get any error message(s) before you get kicked out?

Do you get a blue screen? If so, it's hardware related not the program(s).

Can you give your computer specs?

It could be a number of things, you might even have adware/spyware/malware or a virus on your pc, but we need more info.

I don't get any type of warning message or blue screen. The system just freezes and requires a manual shut down. I know that there is no asware/spyware or virus as I religously run Norton checks and Adware/SpyBot to ensure my system is clean.

The PC I'm using has an AMD 2gig processor with 1 gig of ram, a 160gig HD. I'm not at my PC right now but I recently updated the firmware for my burner to version 1.0b (can't rember the make). I have never had a problem burning with DVD xcopy, Roxio, UltraISO or any other burning software. Before running Decrypter/shrink I routinely disable Roxio's Drag to Disk and all other non-essential apps from the start-up using msconfig.

While this problem doesn't prevent me from backing up my DVD's because of UltraISO, I'm just baffled as to why I'm having the problem.

Have you tried uninstalling roxio? Seems like you see alot of problems on here that have it involved.

Have you tried unistalling and reinstalling Decrypter and Shrink?

I've noticed that I get burn errors too using shrink to open Decrypter for burning or Nero for that matter. But when I copy to hard drive, then open with either burning tool, copies turn out great.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I'll try just using Decrypter to burn the saved ISO file. Haven't tried that yet.
