Please help me if you can! I've successfully converted avi to DVD and burned the DvD's, however the audio is far softer for the DVD or .VOB files than it originally was. I was using the Divx to DVD program to encode it. Is this a problem with that program? How can I fix this?? Thank you!

You can try to extract the WAV audio file from the VOB set with another program (DVD2AVI?) or you could reconvert the 'soft WAV' audio to another WAV file with HeadAC3he.
The 'must' is to check 'Booster' [1-4].
1-4 Switches between four diagrams, shown in the main page, which show the boost depending on the frequence of the sound (usually movies have 'spoken' audio low and 'music' audio [high frequencies] kept at a rather high volume).
For example, "Booster 3" amplifiex expecially the medum frequencies.

"Parameter" and "Strenght" change the amplitude of the red line. But the correct settings must be found 'by ear'.
A good suggestion is to evoid exceeding with the amplification.
You could try (but later hear it!) the curve "Booster 1" setting "Parameter = 1.00" and "Strength = 1.00".

Just a caution: look, under the 'Source file' and the 'Destination file' buttons the line 'Stream Info' and be sure that the stream is 48 kHz (DVD specifications). Otherwise, if it is 44.1 kHz [(S)VCD specification] , check the checkbox 'resample to' and select 48 kHz.

Last version is 0.23, which was written in 2002 (quite old but very good), and can be downloaded at Dark Avenger's site [ http://mitglied.lycos.de/darkav/ ].
