I am having so much trouble with one aspect of burning a DVD+R. I have tried burning at 4X, 2X and then at faster speeds, still can't seem to get the voices and lips in sync. I have purchased and tried DVD Santa, Nero, Clone DVD, Win AVI and 1ClickDVDCopy. None of them seem to work to fix this problem. I can encode with no problem. My hardware is HP DVD Writer 400i. Just one year old. Any suggestions? Thanks!

What movie are you trying to back up?

What type of media are you using?

@Lexi2000,

What kind of blank media you're using to do your backups? Is your dvd burner's firmware up-to-date? Go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=37 and verify your burner. I only see a HP DVD Writer 400C, current firmware is KH27.

Nero is great, but again, is your Nero up-to-date? The latest from Nero is 6.6.0.16.

I went to the HP site and checked out the firmware updates and you are correct there is not one for my hardware. I am using Nero 6.6 and Sony DVD+R's. Very frustrating for me as I love movies and really get discouraged with my attempts.

So you saying you have a "burning failed" on Nero, since you stated that you'd tried it with Nero? Can you provide the error log that Nero generated? To get your error log, go here C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Nero History - Notepad and get the very last section, then post up the error in here.

NOTE: please edit out or delete your Nero serial # that starts with 1A23 - XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX or something like this ok.

I don't get an error log and I never stated that I had a "burning failed" either...It burns, it is when I go to play the DVD that the voices and lips are not in sync. I believe this has to do with the speed in which it is burned eg: 4x, 2x, etc. Just wondering if I am doing something that I shouldn't or vice versa?

My bad... I guess I missed the above message. So scrapped my last reply. Well, there is a possibility that some of the files may be infected and or has an audio codec issue then. Google around and search for "K-Lite codec Pack" - it's got everything you need to tweak and fix AVI, DivX and XviD codec issues. On the other hand, have you tried DivXtoDVD yet? It will convert any AVI, DivX to DVD easily and yes I think it's just a little faster than NeroVision Express (depending on your system's specs). Whenever I convert my AVI (DivX) files using NeroVision Express and encountered any errors, I switched to DivXtoDVD and got it going, or vice versa. Once I'm done with that, I just back it up with Nero Burning Rom.

What is the manufacture code on your SONY DVD+Rs? Can you verify the manufacture and its code with Nero CD-DVD Speed or DVD Identifier? Is your media (Sony DVD+R) Made In Japan or Made In Taiwan by chance?

Just a note here: as much as I hate to repeat myself, but I'll have to - so do you have the latest Nero 6.6.0.16? I don't quite get it when you just said Nero 6.6?
