i get an i/o error when trying to read dvds. help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What movie, what program, does it happen all the time or just this particular disk? You need to provide more information.

It happens on every dvd , but not on cds

Current version of firmware for this drive is 1.11 released in August, have you upgraded?

Also, have you ever been successful in ripping and burning with your drive? Have you tried not using DVD43 with Shrink and ripping the movie?

Again, have you ever successfully ripped and burned a DVD with this drive? Do you have Nero, what program do you burn with? Is your drive showing in the Device Manager, is it hooked up correctly?

yes i have Nero and yes i have burned before but now i can only do cds
