To back up your game, here's what you've got to do.

1. Head to PS2nfo.com. If you are not a member of it, you will need
to sign up, otherwise, the links to download files will not
show up.
2. Search for the DNAS ID Inserter program.
Use the word "search" in the orange bar, not the
google bar on the screen. You will need this program.
This program is used to input the retail CD's disc ID number.
You see, any game made after 2003 for the PS2 that is online
playable contains one or more image files that has a "disk
DNA checker." The online game server checks your game disk to
see if it's the real thing or not. Thus, you have to discover
which .img file on the game disc has the checker file. I
will show you how to find out. The program to be used that is
inside that zip file is called Disc_ID.exe. This is the actual
image patcher.
3. While you are at ps2nfo.com, search for the program, DVD ID
Finder. This zip file will contain a file called "rebuilt.iso."
You will need to burn that image to a blank DVD. This will be
used to scan the retail CD for its disc ID number.
4. Next, use google or download.com to find the program winimage.
You will need it to insert the patched image files that the
disc utility. This will be used to modify the original .iso
file you will create with DVD Decrypter of the game.
5. You will also need ISObuster. This is a free program, so use
google to locate it.
6. Finally, you need DVD Decrypter. It can be found in the download
section of this forum.

If you need help with locating these files, just PM me. I'm not allowed to post direct links to them.

I use Swap Magic 3.6 with a newly installed lid to load my burned games. If you do the same thing, then follow my steps to boot the material I will post. Otherwise, improvise my game loading steps to the way you boot your burned games.

Now, once you have all of those tools, this is what you will do.

1. Go ahead and extract the rebuilt.iso file from the DVD_Disc_ID_Utility.zip file. After you do that, use DVD Decrypter to burn that image to a blank DVD. On the DVD itself, write down "dvd ID Utility." For every online game you get your hands on that you want to duplicate, you will need this cd to discover the game's disc ID number.

2. To discover the retail game CD's ID number, here's what I do.
2a. Insert Swap Magic DVD boot disc.
2b. When you see the "load program" screen, remove the Swap Magic
disc, and insert the DVD ID Utility disc.
3. Press the X to boot that disc.
4. You now see a bunch of numbers, but they are all zeroes. It is
asking you to press X again. Before you do that...
A. With one hand, press one finger down on the platform of the
the lid just above the eject button. This keeps that portion
of the lid stable. With another finger, press the eject
button. This will stop the CD from spinning.
B. With the other hand, remove the DVD ID Utility disc, and
insert your retail version of the game.
C. Press the eject button again. The CD should start spinning.
D. Now, remove your hand that is on the PS2.
5. Press the X.
6. You now see three categories of numbers. You need to write down
the First category of numbers. This is the games Disc ID series
of numbers. Notice that they are grouped in pairs, so write them
down in that manner. There are 5 pairs of numbers altogether.
7. Once you have the numbers written down, power off your PS2.
8. Remove the game disc.
9. Insert the game disc into your computer's DVD drive.
10. Open DVD Decrypter and create an image of it.
A. At the DVD Decrypter screen, press R or click Mode/ISO/Read.
B. Click the CD to drive button at the bottom.
C. The image creation is now in progress.
11. Once the image is created, close DVD Decrypter.
12. If you haven't already, extract the DNAS_ID.exe file from the
discidinsertor.zip file. I'd extract this to a new folder
called "disc_Id_insertor", then create a shortcut of the
disc_id.exe file to your desktop.
13. Double click the Disc_ID icon.
14. You now see a tiny window for the program. Click the "open DNAS"
button, and browse the dvd drive that contains your game disc.
A. You are looking for .img files that start with DNAS and IOP.
You may find them hidden in the sub folders of the game
disc as well. You will not always find more than one file
with a checker, I never have. Also, you may either find
a DNAS file name, example: DNAS300.img, or just an IOP file.
B. When you see one, double click it.
Click the "scan" button. If it contains a checker,
you will see the message "routine found" or related wording.
If the file you are looking at does not contain a checker,
it will say something like "does not contain..." or "not a
compatible file type." Just move on to the next DNAS or
IOP related named file you see until you spot it.
C. Once you spot it, take note as to whether it was in the root
folder of the game, or in a sub folder.
D. Minimize the patcher program.
15. Open ISObuster, and click the little folder icon toward the
very top right. Have it open your game's image file that DVD
Decryptor created.
16. You now see all of the files of the game. Locate the file or
files that had the hidden checker. One at time...
A. Right click that file...
B. Click Extract To, and extract that file to a new folder.
C. If another file was said to have the checker, extract it
to.
D. NOTE: Don't forget if the DNAS or IOP file was in a
subfolder of the game or not.
17. With the file or files extracted, close ISObuster.
18. Go back to the patcher program, the Disc_ID window.
19. Click Open DNAS again, but this time, browse to the folder you
extracted your file to, and double click that file.
20. There are five empty boxes in that DNAS window. They are wanted
the 5-paired numbers you wrote down from your tv screen. Go
ahead and type them in, then click "patch."
21. You will see the message "successfully patched."
22. If you found that more than one file had the checker, click
the "open DNAS" button again, and double click the next file.
Put in the same number, and patch it. Odds are you will only
find one file per game that has the checker.
23. Next, open Winimage, and have it open your game's image file.
24. Now, you see all of the game's files once again. Ask yourself
this: "is the file I just patched in front of me or in a sub-
folder." If it's in front of you, go on to step 25. If not,
double click the folder to which the file is inside of.
25. At the top of Winimage, click "Image" and select "inject."
26. Browse to the folder to which you extracted the file or files to
that you just patched, and double click the file.
27. It will ask, "do you want to over-write...". Click "yes."
** If there was another file that you patched, inject that as
well, making sure you see the file name in front of you in
Winimage.
28. Once you have injected your patched file(s), close Winimage. As
you closed Winimage, the game's image file was instantly updated.
29. Open DVD Decryptor, and burn your image back to DVD of the game.

NOTE: For games that required CD/DVD Gen and IML2ISO to duplicate, perform those processes first, then inject your patched image files of the game to final image that is created, then burn that image.

Your game will now pass the DNAS checker. Sure, there are 29 steps to this, but when you get the swing of it, it only takes about a good 2 minutes plus the amount of time it takes you to rip and burn back the image of the game after modifying it. If you need more details, just PM me.

Glad to be of help,
