Dual Layer media. They probably only hold about 8.5 gigs of data.

You have to have a dual layer DVD-RW drive to burn these.

I get the verbatim data life plus +2.4x DL media at Office depot for about $3.50 when they go on sale.

You may want to try Rima.com/supermediastore.com/meritline.com/meritline.com
They may be a little cheaper than $3.50 each.

what is the model number and make of that cd/dvd combo drive...i'll look it up for you to accurately answer your question, for the "combo drives" that i have seen, most of them are cd-burners/dvd-rom players and are NOT capable of burning dvds whether it be DVD-5 or dvd-9~ :)

you gotta have the right hardware before we can begin this dvd burning journey~ :)

let us know the make and model of your drive and then we will be off to a good start~ :)

i just bought it recently and havent had the need to open her up. but all i know is that it comes factory. so far iv been able to burn dvd's from different regions, such as thai dvd's and chinese. I have an HP model number A1110N. im not sure how much that will help since i havent the need to open it up yet.

I'm still not sure about the model # in your HP 1110n.

I've got the HP 1118x-b and it came with the HP 640c lightscribe. It is dual layer, but it wasn't near the burner that my benq 1620 is,so it is now just laying in a box. I believe it was dual layer. It was only in for a week before I swapped it out.

saugmon is the ONLY person i know that has it and used it before, i guess it's NOT a good drive as he had stated he swapped it out for another Benq model shortly after producing a coaster on it~ Lightscribe drives need to come a LONG way before i will consider purchasing one, personally~ :)

im sure when saugmon responds, he can be more detailed in his explanation~ :) he's the one with the actual drive in question...
