Hey guys. I did a little research and can't find an answer. I turn to you guys now.

I am using DVD Shrink 3.2.0.15
and Nero 6

with a
Lite On 16x DVD+-RW drive (SOHW-1693S)
and
Philips DVD+-RW drive (DVD8701) Drives

I was able to rip a DVD in about 8 mins (Just to the HD, another 5mins for the burn). I think it was decryting at 16x.

I was tryin to rip a DVD when the program locked up. I had to kill the process and try again. It happened again. I then gave up on that disc and tried a disc that I had already succesfully ripped. When it began to rip I was gettin a real low transfer rate. 2,000.
And now it takes 40 + mins to rip it.

I think when the program locked up it changed some settings or the Smart software kicked in a changed itself.

I tried adjusting the speeds with the Nero adjuster but have had no luck.

Where do you guys think the solution rests?

Thanks a million.

1) Download DVD Decrypter from this site (it's free!).
2) Click on the link on my sig and follow the instructions on how to use DVD Decrypter with DVD Shrink.

Good Luck!

The software that I am using works fine. I just need to know how to adjust the speed. Thanks for the link. I'll look into that later.

Impyman18,
Go into Device Manager and see if there are any yellow flags. If there are then uninstall the device(right click it ) and then re-boot and let Windows re-install it properly,

To adjust the burn speed only in Shrink go to backup> burn setting. If you are using Shrink to control Nero this is the only way.
If you were trying to rip a DVD when it locked up it might be that Shrink could not rip the DVD Properly and that is why konfused1 recommended that you use DVDDecrypter. It is a better ripper

I do not think you can adjust rip speed in Shrink

Thanks for the help guys. I checked the device manager and all was good. I was having the issue when I would rip in DVD Shrink , DVD Decrypter or burn in Nero. I think the problem had to due with the drives themselves. I just restored the system to an earlier date and the problem is fixed. I just need to figure out what was wrong.
