Help, first i used dvd shrink and i chose too burn with decrypter. after shrink was done without any errors decrypter opened up and i put my dvd+r in. now it says device not ready (medium not present). can anybody help me out. thanks

Usually that means that your drive doesn't like the media. Make sure your firmware is up to date. Post back with the manufacturer of those discs. Here's a link to a program that will help you identify them:

sorry i'm new at this i've tried to burn dvd's for about 3 days now and still haven't figured it out they are maxell.

no worries - we were all new at this once too!
Let's try the firmware 1st. In decrypter go to tools>drive>check for firmware updates. A message will pop up giving you your current firmware - click ok and you will be taken to: http://www.rpc1.org.
If not up to date - up date it and try again. Maxell's are usually pretty good. What's the make and model of your drive? Internal or external?

Well your drive is a cd writer and a dvd rom. This means that you can write & read cd's but only read dvd's. This is why your are getting medium not ready. Decrypter doesn't find a dvd writer. To burn dvd's you'll need a dvd writer.

Yes you'll need to do VCD's. (video cd's) Here's a guide to help:

Most dvd writers are fairly cheap now a days. I use a pioneer and lite on - love both. For reviews you can also check this site:
