Is DVDShrink just as good a programa s any for splitting a dvd onto 2 dvd-/+r's just using the edit start end frame option?

Or is there a better program for that?

Thanks

I haven't tried that DVD Shrink feature. But if you want to copy DVD9 to 2 DVD5 then DVD2SVCD should do it. It's designed originally to split
a DVD movie to 2 SVCD but it also has DVD as an output type. So you should get 2 .iso images after processing. Only thing is it does reencode the movie so it's not fast like Shrink.

if you don't care about menus and special features, DVD Shrink is just fine using the start/end frame button. If you do want menus and stuff, CloneDVD 2 is the way to go. It's also one of the fastest programs out there and quite good quality on compression.

That could be interesting Oracle. I couldn't find anything on the web if DVD2SVCD will actually span 2 DVDs as well as SVCDs. The only way to know for sure would be to try it I guess. :)

Why not submit your guide to "user submitted guides" section?

I made it in .pdf format and I feel to lazy to upload it in other manner. Now that somebody is interested I'm reconsidering my decision....

DVD Fab was design to do that - split DVD-9 into two DVD-5, but is not freeware.

Yeah googling around I noticed the DVD Fab. I guess I missed out on the freeware version. :(

Although until I get a DVD changer I'm not too psyched about DVD splitting. I just got SVCD2DVD so I could put my 2-VCD movies on one disc. :)
