I have searched the internet and there are few links about the slim tool for the PSTwo. All I can find is instructions as how to install it.
So I understand that the kit comes with a few parts that are placed on some sensors.

But when you boot up the swap magic disk, do the sensors need to be exposed to read that there is a supposed valid PS2 game in there.

So is this a pain in the butt method or do the sensor covers always stay in place?

Can you play back up games online?

Tape method okay?

I see that swap magic 3.3 is recommended for PSTwo but there is version 3.6. Which one?

Can I get a simple walkthrough of how starting a game is like for the slim PS2?

Any good links that will help me out?

it simple stopd the PS2 from resetting when you open the lid
yes you can play them online but have to patch them
before you burn them.
don't know about the tape or straw mod too much.
But i am sure if done correctly they will work.
3.6 is the newest version
and i don't get the whole walkthrough question
if you install a slimtool, you put in swap magic, wait for the load screen, open the flip top and load the back up.
or with original you open the lid, stick in the game
and turn on the pS2

Thanks for the information. Let me reword my question about the walkthrough and sensors.
I am wondering if the sensors are needed to runa regular PS2 disc or not.

So when the PSTwo is turned on, do the sensors need to "detect" a PS2 game in there first to run the game? Because if they are always covered, why do you need a Swap Magic disc in the first place?

Do you install the caps and then leave it in forever or do you have to let the sensors read the swap magic disc and then you need to put the caps on after it passes the testing phase every time you play a game?

I did a search and I am just not sure about how this works. It sounds like it is probably very easy modification but if there is a chance that it is a hassle where I have to take off the cap and put it back on for every game, then I will buy a used bligger PS2 instead.

Thanks again for the info!

First of all the tool is called magic switch.
this site explains the installation of the magic switch:
http://www.jspot.net/ps2.htm

u need to install the magic switch before you put in the swap magic disc. then wait for the disc to stop spining and swap it for the backup/import disc that you want to play. And now press x on your controller. After u are done playing, u can take the magic switch off.

BTW the bold part is for use with swapmagic 3.6 only. and you also need to keep the lid open
