DVD ripping question...

Hi all,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to get info, but I want to rip scenes from DVD movies and then export it to .avi - but I need a program that will let me choose which chapter and at what times to start/stop ripping the certain scenes. I've tried Handbrake, but that rips the whole chapter, which is time consuming. And i've tried Mactheripper, it exports to .VOB but i'm not sure what to do from there. Can anyone help or give me some info?
