Okay, now I have some video files on my computer, they are in MPG/MPEG and some AVI but mostly MPEG. Now what I need to do and I have literally been trying for two years, is to burn those to a dvd so they'll play on my dvd player. What do I need to do what process, what programs, can someone give my a walkthrough on this, or if this is even possible. I am assuming I need to first convert them to dvd format then burn them or something...I just don't know.

I know you have probably heard this question A LOT, but please, I need help.

Thanks!

Strange you waited two years to ask. *_*

A simple method would be to convert the mpegs and avis into dvd compliant format with VSO DivXtoDVD (free version), then burn with e.g. Nero. You may add several files to VSO before converting, and compress with Nero if the resultant files are over the limit of a normal dvd (10-20% compression would not affect quality in a significant manner):

Happy DVD burning!

What do you mena I may add several files to the VSO before burning? And do I burn it on a DVD-R? Do I need a DVD burner hardware, I assume so? How do I compress with Nero. Thanks!

Here is a guide that shows conversion with DivXtoDVD and how to compress and burn with Shrink and Nero or Decrypter.

Whether you use a -R or +R is you decision, except -R disks are more compatible with older standalones. Yes you need a burner to do this.
