My bad for asking some dumb questions:

I had my box mdded with a smart x chip last year and have been playing backups no problem.

I have some games that I would like to backup.

read some of the tutorials but am confused a bit about if I have a dashboard on my system or not.

When I turn my system on with a disk in
I get an EVO X animation and a screen with the following options

original
bios unknown
bios unknown
linux
..
settings


I am assuming I do not have a dashboard since I do not have any options for
downloading games or xbmc which I have not downloaded yet or anything else.

or am I missing something.

Any reference would be helpful.

I am going to load qwix on xbox so I can ftp to my pc and backup to a dvd

Guess the real question is . Do I need a dashboard or just a Skin?
If a dashbaord any recomendations for one that will work with Smart X
