I had asked for the easiest way to copy a ps2 game and was told to use the dvd decrypter to download and dvd shrink to burn. I did it on a dvd+R and a dvd-r and neither would work in the ps2. It definately copied onto the dvd but was unable to be read. When I put it in it said to put in a formatted ps2 game. Is there an easier way to do it or is this just too difficult to burn???? I really appreciate anyones help with this.

Hi there.

Do you have a modded ps2 or are you using another method to play your backuped games? If you are not using one of these methods, then you will not be able to play your backuped games on the ps2.

Also, there is a splendid guide at http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/small_dvd_2_dvdr.cfm . It is very helpful and written in a way that everyone can understand. Kudos to the author.

We were trying to play them on my son's ps2 and they didn't work.

means you need to mod your PS2 and get boot
discs to play any back up (copy) of a game
With the older chunky PS2 you need to buy or make a slidecard, or
get a flip top cover and get Swap Magic discs
With a slimline you need a flip top cover, Slimtool, Magic Switch
and the Swap Magic discs.

Or you can get a good mod chip installed in your PS2 instead.

you can back up movies and play them with no modding required

wtf? you CANNOT play burnt ps2 games without your ps2 being modded or having som sort of swap method,
you are trying to play a DVD disc that your ps2 cannot recognize, a modchip forces your ps2 to read all disc types, swap magic is software utility disc that allows you to swap the software disc with a ps2 game, so that your ps2 thinks your dvd is a ps2 game,

the point is..."YOU CANNOT PLAY BURNT DVDS ON A STANDARD PS2"
