Hi there,
Maybe someone could help me here. I have an ISO file and i am trying to burn it to dvd-r so it can wirk in my home DVD player. Do I have to convert this file first and if so, how? I burned the ISO file straight to DVD-r but it won't play on my home DVD. It will only play on my PC. Can anyone suggest anything? This would be greatly appreciated. Thank-you!

what program did you use to burn the ISO?
Try Nero Burning ROM v6.6.0.16 here at the software tab above. I know Nero Express 6 has a disk image or saved project selection and that will handle ISO files and then burn them properly. It depends on the original ISO file you have, but Nero should be able to handle it. DVD Decrypter (free) also has an ISO write mode. If the original ISO file is less than 4.7GB in size, one of those programs can handle it all by themselves. If the ISO is larger than 4.7GB you need to use Nero Recode 2 or DVD Shrink(also free) to compress the files down to a single DVD5 disk. Burn slowly.. use good media.. Good luck.

I burned it using DVD Decrypter but that's not the problem. It burned successfully and works on my PC Dvd player but it does not play in my HOME Dvd player. I wanted to know why it works in one and not the other. Like I said before, the file type is a .ISO file. What do I have to do to this file in order to play it in my HOME Dvd player?

ok, i have a dvd like that also. It plays on my computer but stand alone players dont recogize it. Let me try to find that disk, and fix it so it plays on both pc and stand alone. I suspect it is something in the file types on the ISO movie that a computer can recognize but a stand alone doesn't. Sorry jjmt99. I don't have an answer right now, but i will look in to it. It may also be the type of DVD media you used. Many older stand alone players only recognized the DVD-R format. DVD+R can be booktyped to read as DVD-ROM which is supposed to be the easiest format for a dvd player to read. Was it a -R or +R you used, and if you can, a burn with the opposite of what you used before in disk type. Sorry my brain is going numb.. If anyone else out there can think of anything chime in..

Thanks MaxBurn for tryin to help me with this one. Any response is helpful. The media I am using is DVD-R but I don't think that would be the problem because I have another .ISO file burned onto DVD-R type media and it works fine.

Im not sure if it helps but..

1. Is it a NTSC or PAL dvd?

2. Region code is correct?

Edit: How about burning it with dvdshrink?
