Does any know anything about a Homemade PS2 web Browser for the U.S. PS2. I know someone hacked the UK Network Disc and made a internet site that allows the UK PS2 to browse the web, but how about the U.S. PS2. Is there any disc that someone could make that would allow you to surf the web just by putting in the disc?

With most of the hacking groups out there, I am Suprised that no one has developed or released information about a homemade web browser for the PS2. I have heard about the Web browser that came out in japan, but haven't been able to find a working link to a download of it. I have tried searching google, yahoo, altavista, dogpile, ask jeeves, even megagames.com and haven't been able to find a working link or information about a homemade browser. I was really looking toward surfing the web on my PS2. If someone can develope a USB connection program(naplink) and a Cat5 (Broadband adapter) connection, why can't they make a simple internet browser disc?

(Does anyone read the forums and post anything?)
Like I said before, if someone can make a Cat 5 Dev Tool(iLink), a USB Dev Tool(naplink), and the PS2 Media Player, Why can't someone make a Web Browser disc for the US PS2? It shouldn't be that hard to do. Since I can't find the Jap Browser for the PS2 to download, I am trying to find a Homemade/Dev Web Browser disc. If some one could post any information here, I would be really greatful.

Well, these things do take time to make.

If it's so easy, why not try it yourself eh?

most people have a ps2 for gaming. a browser on the ps2 is kind of pointless, if you ask me. it's like Windows 95 on a psp...what's the real point?

It would allow me to Upload and download ISO to HD Loader faster than ripping them using the PS2 dvd drive which is slow compaired to my PC Drive. And also I would be able to Surf the net with out my brother knowing it since I have to ethere go and use my Xbox linux save which takes time to load and to connect to my computer inorder to by-pass the firewall he put up to stop me(my stuff is in the basement and it gets cold down there, I would like to be in my bed room where it is warm and surf the net). Or I have to go to the libriary. Also I would be able to download the hacks right to the memory card instead of having to use my comuputer to put them on to the AR USB Pen Drive.
I don't know anything about coding games or apps. The only reason why I said it shouldn't be too hard to do is because couldn't they just hack the net work disc be editing the .xml file to go somewhere else. I have tried to edit it, But don't have enough knowledge to get it working. I have tried burning the edidted files to discs, but have no luck getting them to boot on the PS2. Also the iLink program looks like a basic internet setup and if goofed around with by someone who knows what they are doing, It might be come a browser.

Keebles.. We're trying to help you here, and you're throwing your own thread
off-topic, so if you could please stay on topic with the web browser, for the PS2, we would be very grateful, rather than posting a bunch of stupid videos!

They kind of already have replacemnets out there
Like the ToxicOS on the DMS4 Pro chip
It will eventually be used to totally replace the
PS2 browser. The only real thing it is good for is loading
ELF and Expliot type files, loading from an HDD, game saves and such.
And changing settings. The next release is suppose to have
a integrated cheat device so no more need for a cheat disc.

but will it allow you to browse the web and is there a way of using it with a chip since I don't won't to install a modchip in my PS2(had a bad thing happen when I tried it on my Xbox with the Solderless adapter, almost screwed up my Xbox even though I knew what I was doing).

i understand that, and you have been answered several times
the answer is no one really cares about using their
PS2 to browse the web. Yes i am sure it could be done since
it can go online. But it takes someone who really wants to
use their PS2 to do that, and a lot of knowledge and programming.

I have found the website which offers this. It says it works on defintly the Uk and Australian system using one of the three suggested methods. Although I haen't tried this out myself.
Website - www.brookfresh.co.uk
Email me @ *edit by pkaksp* if any one gets their ps2 on the interent using these methods.

I have the EgBrowser released in Japan that allows you to go online but I could not successfully set it up as it is partly in Japanese (it was translated by some guy named Mini-Me).

Hey all, the names Andysan. Im a moderator on Brookfresh, and no, there is no way currently of surfing the net through a US NAD without the use of Linux, or some third party net browsing software.
It can be done through the NAD in the UK, Europe and Australia, but not elsewhere.

can you email me an iso of the disc so I can download it and burn it to a disc? cause I can't find an image that I can download of it. This way I will be able to surf the web too using my PS2. This will allow me to load hacks right to the memory card,HD, or just run them right on the PS2. Plus my brother wouldn't know it allowimg me a get on line using my PS2 in my room with out having to turn on my PC and my xbox to connect to the web. I run Emergency Linux save, allowing my to share the internet with my pc allowing me to go around my brothers Firewall which is blocking me from the internet. Getting Emergency Linux set up and running takes a while to get set up since it doesn't allow you save any settings to it because it is Emergency Linux which only has a few abilities to use and it's self doesn't have the ability to surf the web since it isn't in the code, but allows me to share the internet with my PC that would normally be used for Xbox Live [ I don't use XBL,I use NXBC] [PC Progam that runs while the Xbox is on] allowing me to play against others [but doesn't have XBL downloads], so I do this to get my PC to go on line, But it for some reason it slows down the connection making it slow on me and I end up sometimes waiting for pages to load even through I have comcast internet [Cable internet]. Also I would be able to do this in my room where it is warm instead of in my basement where it is cold sometimes and that is where all my stuff is including my PS2 which I would move up to my bed room if I got this.
