I have downloaded a few AVI movies and converted them using DivxtoDVD. After the file is converted I used DVD shrink to burn the converted file onto a DVD+R disk. Everything works fine until I go to play the disk in a DVD player. I get a message that says "Playback prohibited by area limitations". Is there some way to get the disk to play? Im not sure what to do

I downloaded a demo of Nero and when you use DVD Shrink it uses Nero to burn Disks. I have a Sony DVP-NS575P player. My files do play all the way through on my computer. How would I know if the file is PAL or NTSC, and would I need to convert it to NTSC to play? If so how would I convert it?

Thanks for your help so far I appreciate it

ok, i am not 100% sure the trial version of Nero will work, as i have the full version. so i will try my best (keep in mind, some things may not be what you have in the trial version)
here we go
all your files are in one place, keep them in order.
open Nero, select dvd from the top tab, and use NVE Nero vision express
it is the simple one for now (till you get the full version)
then, it will prompt you to 'make your own dvd'
select that and add your files one at a time, preferabbly in order too, so your video will be in order. from there, you can (dont know on trial) create menus.
once your files have been added, notice your meter bar at the bottom, it should not go over 4300kb, if it does, it will tell you that you need a bigger disk. hoping it doesnt, move on to clicking burn project. from there, it will say, your dvd contains more PAL then NTSC or vice versa, you can select do all NTSC or PAL, depending on where you are from. dont multitask while it converts and burns. burn at a slow speed, 4x or less, and use good media. assuming you have done this before, as you stated, it should be ok. there are other programs too.
try this one if Nero does not work

good luck and let me know !
