I have been trying to copy my VHS to DVD and they play fine on the recorder that I made them on, but won't play on any other players, what am I doing wrong?

Are you recording in the VR mode because most dvd players do not support VR recordings?

Did you Finalize them?

Other drives won't play them until you finalize them.

They need to be done in the Video mode,not the VR mode, and yes, they need to be finalized also.

whats the video mode because i have a ilo recorder & my discs play fine on my recorder too but not on my computer....here's a link to my recorder..

I'm not familiar with that model, but there should be an option where you can choose Video mode, or VR mode.The VR mode allows you do do more editing, but as I said before, it's not supported by most dvd players.The Video mode doesn't give as many editing options, but when finalized,it will play in most dvd players.
Both modes have to be finalized on your recorder,for either of them to play.

Straight video mode and finalize the disc, if you dont finalize the disc it will only work in that recorder....

It should be in your menu somewhere,along with the other editing features.You should have something that says Edit,Format,Finalize.
If you dont have a users manual,you should be able to download it off the manufactures website.

In your menu,it can even state: Make Compatable

That's what my cyberhome says on +rw media, and Finalize on +r media.
