Help my ps2 will not turn on. I tried to install the fliptop and everything was going fine untill i looked at the disk tray when i put the cover on it it was crooked so i took the flip top off and the ribbon cable came out. SO i put the ribbon cable back in with numerous tries. Then the memory card ribbon came out i put that back in. THe eject ribbon cable looks like its in pretty bad shape but it is still together and no holes in it, it just look crumbled up and stuff. SO now my ps2 will not turn on and i dont know if its the ribbon cable, i blew a fuse, or the power thing in the back just doesnt work(whcih i think it does work because i got shocked one time accidently putting my hand under the power supply board while it was on.) Im praying it is the ribbon because i logged in a total of 12 hours trying to fix the ps2 with only 5 hours of sleep lthis morning so can anyone please help. BTW my ps2 is version 7 and does anyone have a ny reliable sources to get a replacement ribbon

Can't say I can help. All I know is I'm in the same boat pretty much I think. I mangled my ribbon cable and now my CD tray wont come out.

see, i use Swap Magic, so (lol) i've never even opened my 3-year-old ps2. if you can't get the ribbon from Sony, you could always try eBay. that's probably the problem, or it seems to me.
