Hi i just have a question .I backed up 24 season 1 season 2 season3
i just decrypted shrinked then burned like a normal dvd and a friend said that it wasnt possible ? but i did it and they play good i shrinked it down to 60 thou but the copy looks as good as the original and i do this on any series i buy to protect my originals. My question is Do i need to copy the dvd to 2 dvds pre one original? and if so why? (sorry im really ignorant on technical stuff) I watched all the 24 i copied and they are good . thanks sally

If you're backing up your originals, there's really no need to make more than one copy. If the copies get scratched or suffer an untimely demise, guess what? You still have your originals to make back ups.

You'd just be wasting blank dvdr's, but that's your choice, of course.

Just my opinion.

Happy Burning!

I think what you are asking is should you make 2 disc per 1 DVD. Strech them over 2 seperate disc.

This is just a prefrence on the usser. Myself I uasly dont worry about compression till it is under 55% then I will either Just do the movie without extras or split the DVD in half.

I have a 65inch HD/Projection screen TV and see no guility loss myself when I watch the DVD. But others will say they do but I think thats cause they are 1 inch from the TV looking for the degradded arreas.

So if you think the quility is as good as the orignal i wouldnt worry about spliting them in 2.

@sallyme:

Sorry, I misunderstood the question. Anyway, if you don't mind having to get up and changing dvd's everytime you watch your backup's, then I guess you can do it. But as larrylje said, that's your preference. If you're a stickler for quality and don't mind paying for extra blank media, then by all means.

Good Luck!
