What program did you use to rip these VOB files?
Are they downloaded avi's, etc...?
I'm assuming you want to burn them to DVDR's, what burning proggies do you have?

DVD Shrink cannot not open/process .avi files. It needs to have the "Full" DVD structure. (Ex: .vob, .ifo, and .bup files)
One method of converting .avi's and such to compliant DVD files is:
1) Use "TMPGEnc" (or "TMPGEncPlus") to convert the .AVI (DivX-compressed or otherwise) to compliant MPEG2-for-DVD format - You can use "TMPGEnc's" DVD wizard/template to accomplish this.
2) Use "TMPGEnc DVD Author" (a different program than "TMPGEnc") to easily create the required additional DVD files and structure (and chapters and a menu, if you wish).
**If the combined file size of the DVD "package" written to your hard drive is greater than 4.37Gb, use DVD Shrink to compress it down to fit on your recordable media.
If your operating system (O/S) is either Win2000 or WinXP, TMPGEnc DVD Author can also burn your DVD. Otherwise, use NERO to burn in "DVD-Video" mode - Tutorial Located here on how to do this: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&postid=221453#p...

You have a corrupt .AVI file. It may play fine but, the structure of the .AVI is not compatible with TMPGEnc. There are some other programs to convert it but, its been along time since I've done that type of conversion. So I'm not sure what the programs are.
If you check out this link, there are multiple guides on how to do it with various programs (Its the 3rd section down):

use virtual dub and slightly change settings on the AVI (codec) then try TMPEG. I have done this on other avi's that didn't read. In VirtualDub cheack file properties, this program will give you a lot more info than most.
