I downloaded a movie off the internet and it had no extension at the end i was wondering how i can make this file a movie. I tried puttin .avi after the file but my media player said this file can not be played. How can i change this file back to no extension and try to put .mpg at the end. Also how can i view all file extensions with XP. Like picture files has .jpg or .bmp at the end but i cant see that/ How can i see the file extensions??

In folder options you can disable the hiding of known file extensions. Really though if you have an mpg named .AVI media player will play it fine.
