Hi Guys,

I started a thread a couple of weeks ago about how DVD shrink is taking an average of 2 hours to back up a disc (it used to take 15 to 20 minutes). I've tried everything bar a new DVD Burner. I also tried checking the DMA settings and uninstalled my secondary driver which was showing PIO, when I rebooted windows re-installed the driver but it still showed PIO. Is this likely to be my problem??? Does any one have any other suggestions?

Thanks

Maybe you have too much running in the background or your memory is failing in your system. That can way heavily during use with programs like that.

nothing is running in the background when I use it. My systems 18 months old but the 160GB Hard drive is only 4 months old. The previous hard drive was working fine it was only replaced due to Dell putting the incorrect GB size in it.

I have also defragged and cleaned up my system which has speed up DVD Shrink slightly but not back to what it previously was. I have also re-installed DVD Shrink twice.

Perhaps this thread will shine alittle more light and give you a in depth look at what and why it is going so slow: http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=47035

Thanks jmet!! I re-did the DMA settings following the instructions on the thread you suggested and I'm pleased to say it's now back to taking 15 minutes to back up a movie.
