That's probably just a customer service address. 1100 King George Post Road, Edison NJ 08837. Just below that is the canadian address,and below that mine show Made in Japan.Pretty small letters and all 10 of my spindles are made in japan.

Just look left of the UPC symbol . Mine are the Yuden000-T02.

@mord, the only Verbatim that i can confirm are made in Japan are the new 8x -R Verbatim TY discs that i've just bought something like 500 of... however they are/have been made in Singapore, Taiwan and India. TY i believe are only made in Japan. Sony, i'll leave to the other guys..

Blacksol, I feel you Man, the only way I'll send MY Wife for something like that is if I send a Label with her from some I have, Or, I'll call the Store ahead, get somebody that can see good, & have them hold them at Customer service. Trust me Blacksol, I've been married more than 3 times. These things can happen, I have learned to always go get stuff like this myself. Besides, not all Women fool with these things, therefore they just don't know. Yeah, I am defending them. The World just wouldn't be very nice without women. Correction, it wouldn't even exist! :O I bet Staples is wondering what the H*** is going on with all those sales! Yeah kivory666!!! Geez Dude. You must have cleaned that Store out! Can't say I blame you, if didn't have so many TYs now, I would've done what you did, sale prices like these don't happen often. 30 cents each! For Taiyo Yuden Made! Whoa!

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

@bunnyrip

my sentiments exactly, i was actually angered by the fact that MANY people reported finding the MADE IN JAPAN 8x DVD-R Fujifilms, so, i took the time today to drive to 4 different Staples in neighboring cities to check MYSELF, hehe, lo and behold, i got the last TWO from 2 different stores, the first 2 stores were ALL made in taiwan and i will NOT pay $.30/disc for PRODISC~ yuck~!

so, i guess im pretty happy despite driving close to 100 miles today going from Staples to Staples in 3 different cities :) 60 colored TYG02s, bless Staples :) and that price, CANNOT be beat~ :)

i came home and my wife looked at me holding all my blank media and she was like, "uh...i hope there is some food in those bags or else imma have to hurt you" LOL *good thing i ordered for delivery while on the road, or else i'd be in the doghouse tonight*

well, good luck to all of you that are still searching, i am here to report that at least in the Los Angeles area...i got the LAST 2 30 packs of the 8x DVD-R that are MADE IN JAPAN~ :) *happy dance*
i picked up plenty of the MIJ DVD+R on sunday, YUDEN000T02 coding, there are STILL many many of those spindles left~

$8.94 plus tax for 30, WOW, that's ALL i can say~

Plenty of MIJ -R's up here in Maine as well. But my older player likes the +R's better. The burns on TYG02's are slightly better, but the YUDEN002's are compatible with both of my standalones. Grabbed 3 spindles of +R and 1 spindle of -R yesterday. Will probably grab a few more later this week. I'm only a light burner at ~50-60 burns a month....

light burner or excessive burner like myself, always a good idea to find out what is the best compatibility for your own standalones, it naturally doesn't hurt to use GOOD quality media~ :) i am in a similar boat as you akyllonen, ALL my standalones will read and playback my YUDEN000T02's booktyped to dvd-rom perfectly, while all but 1 of my picky players will play the TYG02s DVD-R :)

i don't know what's going on with the shipments here in LA, but, seems like everywhere else in the country people have been blessed with the MIJ 8x dvd-rs :) why is it so hard to find over here? LOL

anyways, i have found THIS particular thread to be most helpful and informative for me personally, thanks to all the contributors here good luck...burn on my friends. :)

WOW! What a scavenger hunt you guys have had to go through. I went into my local Staples store (and after finally find the special display stand where they were located, not with the rest, I looked forever before finding it) there were nothing but made in Japan DVD+R's. I wonder why certin areas get more Japan than Taiwan and vice versa. Strange. Well, if anyone here is in the Central Ohio area, visit the Dublin Staples. They have all made in Japan spools for the Fuji DVD+R.

kivory666...Holy Cow! 3000 DVDs! It would take me a lifetime to use all of those!!!!

hehe :) @nlm1976, what can i say, im a burning fool~ :) when im not @ work, i burn...when i'm not sleeping, i burn~

it's just my OWN PERSONAL opinion that one can never have enough "good quality" media~ i stock up whenever there is a fantastic sale such as this one~ actually, im building a 3rd comp. right now that will be dedicated to burning ONLY, nothing else will be installed on that machine...just to produce my output a lil faster~

have a good one and burn on~ i have friends that grad. from Ohio State that i have been asking to check out the media over there, as you stated, they have PLENTY of the MIJ ones over there...they were telling me to setup a trade, send some hot LA girls over and then they would be willing to ship me some MIJ Fujis :) LOL...

I agree you can never have enough quality blanks. I have ~200 YUDENS/TYG02's plus a left over VERB 16x spindle(bought before I knew 1 of my players didn't like the media) for emergencies. Plus a few RITEKS for givaways :) Gonna try and grab a few more to bring me to 300-350 by the end of the week....that will last me for a few months!

Make sure to send the hottest ones....if you sent homely ones my way I'd ship 'em back with Prodisc FUJI's!!!LOL

Did you get in on the Verbs 16x for 2.50USD 10 packs at Staples. (Unadvertised Sale) If you see them in the store they won't be marked down until you go the register and then they go from 9.99 to 2.50. The DL media is 5.50 for 3.
Has anyone verified this.....

I think I really started something when I posted this one. I Hope that this thread has helped many. I like to share & help all those who have helped me since I joined AfterDawn! By the way kivory666, the Local Staples here has plenty of DVD-R MIJs. I would love to send you some, but I'm on the East Coast Dude. I may go get some of the DVD-R MIJs. I mostly use DVD+R, but my player likes either one. And.. it's a "Cheapie" from Wal-Mart. Go figure!

bunnyrip, kivory666, saugmon, arniebear, everybody, especially newbies

i just about copied all the staples and khypermedia media with the japanese fujis and right now i am watching roger waters in the flesh and i swear..... the colors are more VIVID with my HDTV and the sound more DETAILED and MUSICAL through my ascend acoustics...

... and i am scratching my head and can't figure out how a fuji copy can be better than the "original" khypermedia dvd...we are talking about 1's and 0's, bits and bytes, so i guess the same information should get the same results right?.... or am i just influenced by all the talk about how good the TY's are and how crappy the khypermedia's are?... guys tell me that i am not just seeing and hearing things here

i am so pissed i wasted my time with these POS media when i could have been enjoying myself with quality stuff

i already bought 10 packs of the MIJ fujis and i will be going back for more tomorrow...hope staples don't have any buying limits

congrats gitoy, THAT is exactly what i like to hear~ TAIYO YUDEN 4 LIFE~! :)

and you wonder why i push TYs so much here on AfterDawn? even got a nickname of docTY~ :) the quality is like NIGHT and DAY am i right? when i compare the quality of both VIDEO and AUDIO from my TYs to that of my crappy CMC MAG or Princo manufacturered discs, anyone can see the difference~ :)

hope you have "seen the light" as i try to spread the gospel as much as i can around here...great to hear of your newfound success, keep em' burning~ have a good one~

@bunnyrip

that is a very nice gesture, but, for you to ship some to me and after paying the cost of shipping from east coast to the west coast, i might as well just order some from online that are NOT branded Taiyo Yudens for the same price~ :)

but, this has been a very informative thread, thank you by the way...i think i'm good as i have PLENTY of 8x DVD+R YUDEN000T02s now, i just don't have very many of the TYG02s...i love booktyping, so, this isn't a problem...my wife's family has a semi-picky dvd player that unusually ONLY plays DVD-R format, it spits out my YUDEN000T02s and my MCC003/MCC004 that are BOOKTYPED out like i stole some money from them~ LOL

anyways, good to hear about where the MIJ are avail. around the U.S., LA might be the "hot spot" for fashion/celebrities/hollywood; but, they are VERY MUCH lacking in the MIJ dept.~ :) can't win em' all i suppose~

it is about past one oclock in the morning and i am scaring myself with the realistic sound coming from my surround speakers...i keep thinking that there is somebody else in the room with me, then i realize that it is just the background noise from the audience and the band members of roger waters...did i say the sound is more DETAILED?

i guess i have quite a lot of coasters now...unused khypermedia, all 36 of them

gitoy, the playback improvement is likely due to your stand alone player liking that new taiyo yuden media. Those standalones can be flaky when it comes to playing burned dvds.That's where the quality level of media really shows up.Quality media means better playback,and fewer issues.

I'm glad you were able to rip those backups. You must have a very good quality burner.I've had some new burners that I couldn't re-rip their backups even using ty media!

Something I noticed on those Yuden000-T02: Some of the backups I have done at 2.4x are giving me crc errors when trying to re-rip them with DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter. The 4x burned backups are no trouble.I just did 2 yesterday to confirm it.
2.4x wouldn't rip,but 4x was perfect! Pretty wierd,so I guess I stick with 4x from now on.

@saugmon,

OR you could do it @8x like i do on ALL my YUDEN000T02s :) just a suggestion since i KNOW you have high quality Benq burners...i've had no problems on all 5 of my drives @8x~ just my opinion of the matter~ i NEVER burn anything below 4x, i feel my burners just get bored burning at that speed so the lasers are not really working at their highest potential, yes, this is just MY opinion and i have NO evidence to back it up, BUT, nothing below 4x for me, it's REALLY not worth the wait and as you stated, the possible CRC errors that you have gotten from 2.4x~ :)

as a matter of fact, i saw PLENTY of them here in LA, CALI. Staples off wilshire~ :) i wiped MOST of them out~ LOL...there are about 4-6 spindles of the 8x DVD+R MIJ ones over here that i left for those that wanted to get some, so, yes, i wasn't COMPLETELY selfish, i only bought 13 spindles~ :)

i got 2 of the 8x DVD-R MIJ after MUCH MUCH searching at 4 different Staples stores, so, 15 spindles later...i am done for this week~

good luck...

I stopped by my local staples yesterday and they had a slew of plus fujis.They all were made in Japan.I picked up 2 more yudens so I'm catching up with you Kivory666.

They didn't have as many dash,but they were both made in taiwan and japan-all mixed together just like maxells and sonys.

It's payday today,so I'll stock up on those fuji slim cases.

im sure you have MANY more slim cases than i do, i only picked up ONE of the 100 pack, when i make backups for family, i just give them the discs in those paper sleeves with the see-thru window on the front~ :) that is how i like to keep expenses down LOL, i'll drop hundreds of dollars for blank TYs, but am really cheap about cases/storage medium for those said blanks :)

good luck to everyone else that is still looking for these 30 pack fujis in either DVD-R or DVD+R format, im spent~
