Transferring gamesaves with a CD-R?

Hi all, I found a way that you can transfer game saves with CD-R's. Heres the guide I ran across

I'm hoping someone has some experience with this because I'm having trouble with it. I downloaded someone's ISO that was already made and I did that fine, then I tried to make my own, and it would give me a blank screen. Then I tried to make another one of my own and the .NPO files (I had 2 saves) were nowhere to be found. Anyone know whats up?
