Hi
I was using some really crap media before, so i was suggested to go out and buy some 8x dvd-r, however now I have got these dvd-r's which intended to use to write at 8x, but they (with both dvd decrypter and alcohol 120%) will only write at 2x????

Any suggestions why?

Have you checked in your Device Manager to ensure that DMA is enabled?
