Problem Reading DVD Backup...HELP!!!

I made a backup of Fight Night Round 2 and it worked a few times but now it only works when it wants to. When it doesnt work, the laser just goes crazy around the edge of the dvd. I have a Slim PS2 with Swap Magic 3.6. Does anyone know what the cause of this problem is?
