im not sure what ur asking. the unit i saw at crutchfield doesnt have dvd playback. if u are wanting to take the songs on a music dvd and put them on cd then i would rip them to my hd first. then u could burn them to cd.

basically i was asking if i made a mp3 disk out of a DVD-R could i play it but i guess if it doesnt say dvd playback it wont work

You can make an MP3 DVD but it is only playable on a player that has DVD playback. You can play it back on your PC or DVD standalone player and if you have a Home Theater it sounds just great, otherwise you have to use standard CD's for your MP3 backup.
