I am getting confused about this network setup wizard.

Do I need to run the network setup wizard on my other PC? Or do I only need to run it on the PC im on? I am running on a router.

I'm not sure what this has to do with Xbox Backups but you want to run the wizard on each device of the network.

A better question is how do plan on connecting your XBOX? to the Network?

I use a NIC2NIC Connection. To use this you'll need to have 2 NIC's (Network Interface Cards), on your PC (an On-Bord NIC counts as one!),.

So if you have an On-Bord NIC (802.3 Ethernet Port), on you PC yo'll just need to install the other NIC.

Now you'll need to get a CAT-5E (i.e. Crossover Cable), normal CAT-5 Calbe WILL NOT WORK! If you want to use normal CAT-5 you'll need a Router or an Internet Switch, = more Cables, and more Money.

Once you have this all installed. You should go into your Network Connections Applet on your Control Panel. There you should see. The Connections: Local Area Connection and Local Area Connection (2).

Open Local Area Connection (2): Ok You should see a list Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Shareing for Microsoft Networks and Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

Click on Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and the Properties.
Ok now click the Use the following IP Address:

You can use any Private IP you like most People just use something like 192.168.0.1 for the IP. The Subnet should be set to: 255.255.255.0

That's all there is to do on the PC end. All you have to do now is to get EvoX (or what ever), to use the same IP Range (i.e. 192.168.0.xxx),. Since '1' is used by the Server (i.e. the PC), you can't use it. But, the last Digit, can be anything from 2 to 255. So if you set the XBOX? to use 192.168.0.2 as it's default IP Address. You should have no problems connecting it to the Internet / FTP or Live!?

Edit: Oh yeah I almost forgot to add you'll also need to edit your Broadband Connection (Useally the name of the ISP), if you use xDSL and need to use PPPoE to connect to the 'net.

Open it up then Click on Properties -> Adavnced: Tick the Box next to: Allow other Network Users to connect though this Computers Internet Connection. (a.k.a. ICS - Internet Connection Shareing!)...

I only have 1 LAN connection. How do I get a 2nd LAN connection?

Yes, It asks me to run the wizard on all the PCs on the network.

@Ichijoe
You're 100% right but he hasn't specified working with an xbox and I suggested to him in my first post that this is in the wrong section.
He seems just to be referring to setting up a home network between 2 computers or more.

@APr3dator
Before anybody POSTs further, you should clarify exactly what you're trying to do. Your question and the area of the forum is in don't mesh unless you mistakenly asked it wrong.

So, Are you just trying to setup a home network or are you trying to FTP and/or Media sharing between your xbox and PC/Laptop?

If it's the first "home network" between computers, I'll ask to have this moved in the right place. Just let us know.

As for the wizard, then that's what you do, run it on all PCs on the network.
