noob with issues.
i'm trying to create a dvd with a bunch of clips from other dvd's.
i found DVD Shrink (sweet software) to select only the sections that I want.

I then use Easy CD 7 (lite) to convert the VIDEO_TS files to .mpg which is one of the the formats the Windows Movie Maker uses.

My problem is that it seems as though when Easy Cd is converting the files to mpg it doesn't convert the audio. I'm guessing that it is because it can't handle the AC3 .. i guess.

So .. is there a better freeware way (all the way around) for me to handle this?

Also WMM (Windows Movie Maker) is a Crappy assed Editor and will only let you save your edited Project as a WMV File which is a Really Crappy Format as it is so Compressed that you Loose a LOT of Quality when useing it....

Also there is No need to convert the VOB files to Mpeg because VOB files "Are" Mpeg, actually they are Mpeg-2 files with a different header....

If you want to edit a Bunch of VOB files and eventually want to Put it on to a DVD then I suggest you use a Native Mpeg editor which will let you edit your VOB files with the Dolby AC3 audio and let you add effects and Transitions and without any Quality Loss and will save your edited File as a Mpeg-2 file which you can simply author to DVD useing a DVD authoring program....

The best Native Mpeg editor is called "Womble Mpeg Video Wizard 2005" and it would make your Job a lot easier and without any Quality loss and when rendering your edited File it only takes a couple of Minutes as Opposed to many Hours with other Editors.....

There are also a few freeware VOB editors out there...If you want to try one then PM me with your e-mail address and I"ll send you some Links to were you can get them....
