Sorry if this has already been covered.

I use a Dlink DSM-320 media server to play downloaded movies and MP3's on my TV. The files are stored on my PC. What I want to do is rip all my DVD's to my hard drive and play them from there. I have ripped a few as AVI files but the quality is not great. Is there a way I can rip dvd's to my hard drive without losing quality, file size is not an issue, but quality is. I have used DVD Dycrypter but have no idea how to play an ISO file. Thanks in advance.

Have you tried file mode? Most pc DVD programs will play the VIDEO_TS files but not ISO.

You can also use Something like "SmartRipper" which can Rip the Main Movie off of the DVD as a Single Big VOB file with just the audio Tracks and Subtitles that you want and everything else you can strip away...You might Find it easier to playback Movies if they are Just one Big VOB file as Opposed to as a Bunch of smaller VOB files...

I was wondering if there is a program that can copy DVD's to your hard drive but allows you to take out things you dont want (Subtitles, menu's laguages etc.) I was also wondering if there is a program that will alow you to compress a 7 GB dual layer disc to a 4.7 GB disc. Thanks

DVD-Shrink will allow you to do this...It will let you Remove unwanted streams Like the Extra Audio Tracks and subtitles and it will remove any Special features and if the DVD is Still Too big to Fit on a 4.38gb DVD-R then it will compress it just enough so it Fits...

When it is Done it will leave you with a Video_TS folder which you can Burn to DVD useing "Nero" in "DVD Video" mode.....

DVD-Shrin ks 100% Freeware and one of the Best tools for Doing simple DVD Backups.....
