So ive had a 8x NEC burner and have burned around 200 dvds with it using only nero and dvdshrink. Ive prolly scrapped about 15 during this whole process. Anyways im doing an upgrade and started using my other computer which has a 16x NEC burner and have burned prolly about 50 dvds with it. During it, I prolly had to scrap 10 or so dvds, but I think that was due to space reasons (leaving it on default size), so I moved it down some and it seemed to help some, even though one or two out of 15 or so still had the error.

But Im having the wierdest problem now. When I copy a dvd using shrink it goes through and completes, and it says that dvd has burned succesfuly, but when I try to access the movie through a dvd player or the comp it reads the disk as corrupt or no information. I thought maybe something was wrong with the programs or hardware, so I did many tests. Reinstalled all programs numerous times, different versions, burned other medium, data dvds, music cds, data cds, all with no problems. that means the burner works fine, and maybe shrink is not working? but why all of a sudden would it just stop working after all these dvds with almost no problems?

I guess I should try some other software, but Ive had no trouble up until now using shrink and nero, and it is very easy to use. If any one has some suggestions or questions please respond. Ive tried to look but I couldnt seem to find anything else with a problem like this. Thank you for your time.

What brand of media are you using?

Did you recently switch to a new brand?

I had this problem too and don't know why some discs work other don't but what I did was start using DVDfabdecrypter first to rip the movie and then convert to iso using shrink seemed to work fine.
