I've tried everything I can think of to make a copy of Sahara. First I tried DVDshrink by itself, then DVDDecrypter. Then I downloaded a trial version of AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I have tried re-authoring and all kinds other things to cut crap that wasn't needed on the disc. Every time, the copy locks up about the 5th chapter. When I run the copy back through DVDshrink (which I do sometimes to make sure the copy worked okay) it only makes it about 10% through before it gives me a "cycle redunancy" message.

Any ideas?

For you guys that say you copied Sahara with no problems, did you ever check the copy all the way through (or did you watch the copy) since you burned it? The reason I'm asking is when I tried DVDDecrypter, AnyDVD and Clone DVD it appeared to work just fine during the process. It wasn't until I went to verify if it worked or not when I discovered the problem. I know the problem wasn't with scratched or dirty DVDs either since each time I used a new one. All together I've burned up 4 blank DVDs now trying to make a copy that works.

I made an exact copy af Sahara using AnyDVD and ICOPYDVDs2 and it has been played back several times completely .. It scanned just fine also (I use Nero's CD-DVD Speed) ,,

What brand disc are you using? Maybe you got a bunk batch .. even the best every now and again have problems .. I'd try something different

I backed this movie no probs. I actually have'nt watched the backup yet but no errors appeared during the process so hopefully it's ok. You have me worried now! I used AnyDVD and CloneDVD. So your saying the movie locked when playing it from your dvd player?

I have a fully functioning back up of this movie using last DVD Decrypter that was released. Kids have watched the back up with no complaints at all ! What region is your film ? What blank discs are you using etc ?

Yes, I even tried to view the copy in more than one DVD player so I know the player is not the problem. My problem has happened at least 4-times now. At first the problem was that the movie and extras were just too big to fit but I have solved that problem.

I'll try a different batch of DVDs (purchased from Shop4Tech.com). I had just opened a new batch and now that I think about it, I have only tried to copy Sahara with that batch. I'll try some trial and error by trying a to copy a different DVD with the same batch and also retrying Sahara with a different blank batch.

Thanks everyone for the input.

I burned this movie last week and burned it with AnyDVD and Shrink. Worked like a charm.

Hey, j_torres. Specifically what did you have to do to get it to fit. Did you change the compression settings on the extras, reauthor and omit the extras, or what?

Thanks.

You know, if you don't mind lots of compression, you can run it through Shrink more than once ... OR, put the movie on one disc and put the extras on another

Hey I got it to work. I took advice from everyone and did a combination of things (primarily changing brand of disks).

Thanks to everyone for your help.

Now I have another question though. After the burn, besides flipping through the chapters or actually watching the copy itself, what method do you all use to insure you got a good copy?
