Does anyone recommend using Nero over DVD decryptor method to copy or vice versa?

Is there any differnce. Using Nero always used to work for me but latley new backups are freezing after magic swap boot using the same Ritek DVD-r I always used. any input?

Well, personally I've always used DVD Decrypter to put the iso on the hard drive and then use Nero to burn the iso to DVD-R... I use riteks too and burn at 4x 6x or 8x, never had any problems with them.

I have a version 1 ps2 I bought back in Nov 2000. I have used Nero for the past 3 years to burn my dvd backups without problems I am wondering what the prob is. all my old dvd back ups wor great but my TDK 8x dvdr and Ritek white printable 4x dvdr freeze at eh same point in the game if I use either method of burning or media.

The only thing I can think of is that something is disrupting the burn process. Make sure you have all non-essential programs turned off and that the internet is off also before you burn.
Try making another iso from the original ps2 game with decrypter.. then burn that with Nero and see how you go.. try burning at 4x... I don't agree with some people's idea that slowest speed is always best. I've made over 100 backups, mostly at 8x and they all work brilliantly.. but it does depend on your computer specs..so I'd give 4x a try.

Which games are they by the way? some games need to be rebuilt or have dummy files etc removed.

Ther is no consistancy between my copies now. I previously was having trouble with Xmen legends 2. I used dvd decryptor, apache and cd-gen to make an iso and burned on a 4x ritek DVD-R. This would freeze at the loading stage right before actual gameplay. I then took the original and made a 1-1 copy with Nero and burned using a TDK 8x DVD-R and so far no probs. I dont know what the problem is. This game works now but motal kombat shaolin monks, midnight run 3, and shellshock freeze during either a cut scene laoding time or during the intro credits.
