burning wrong?

Hi, I've tried many different ways to make a backup on dvd, (methods I'm told on forum are surefire, rebuild iso)and none seem to load with the swap magic 3.6 I'm using. The disc simply starts spinning and stops, load screen never moves and non ps2 compatible stays at bottom. I'm wondering if perhaps it's the maxell dvd-r disc I'm using or anything else, please help I've been searching for the last week and have made too many coasters already.

are you getting atleast in the Swap magic menu ?

but the simple way to do backup is to use DVD Decrypter to create and burn iso... and yes try different media... i will recommend you verbatime,fujifilm or Ridata (RITEK)

what game are you trying to burn? at what speed? HenriPaul is right, use DVD Decrypter to read it. what you do next depends on what game you are burning.

Also media wise, taiwan and japanese media is usually decent. Not sure where maxell is made. STAY AWAY FROM MEDIA MADE IN INDIA! it is crap beyond crap. i bought a pack about 6 months ago, it is possibly the worst media i have ever made. if you were lucky 1 in 4 discs would work. usually it was more like 1 in 6. after that incident i will burn only with Verbatims dvd-r's. Imations are good as far as my experience has been with them, but i prefer verbatim.
