with DVD shrink...it gets to about 5% and stops, it's done this with The movie Hitch, and Man of the House. Does anyone know why, and if it's some kind of special protection that Soney is using, what software will copy these kind of movies, or what do I do to do it with DVD shrink to copy them...please help!

Use AnyDVD, DVDDecrypter or DVDFAB Decrypter . Shrink can not bust the encryption

yes sony have used a new encryption code that shrink cannot crack however you could also use DVD Region+CSS Free v5.9.3.2 as this is a decrypter, so as soon as you put your disc in it automaticly decrypt`s the disc allowing you to make a perfect backups of your dvds with any software that creates backups of your discs including the latest sony dvds and also worked with shrink with no performance loss. i have used this program many times with no problems.

OK, like I said it worked with the DVD Decrypter, put it into files, then I encoded the files through DVD Shrink, and used Nero to burn...is there a free decrypter program that does both decrypt, encode, and uses Nero to burn? Because even though it worked the first way I mentioned, it did take additional time to decrypt to files, shrink the files, and then burn using 3 different programs...I'm still kinda new at this, and got used to using DVD Shrink 6.0 which automatically uses Nero to burn. Hey and thanks for the info you guys are giving me, it helps me understand the whole concept.

like i said in the last post use a program called DVD Region+CSS Free v5.9.3.2 (get it from shareaza) all that program does is just sits in the background and decrypt`s ever dvd you put in the drive then just use your program as normal.
this ia what i do to break the new sony encryption and any other dvds for backup using shrink and Nero.
load up DVD Region+CSS Free v5.9.3.2.
open DVD Shrink and insert disc you want to back up.
click open disc and select from the drop down the disc you have just put in.
this will then analyze the disc.
once analyzed click back up.(unless you wish to re authour the disc)
on the next screen just click ok.
process should take about 25-30 mins
and about 15 mins to burn
hope this helps

Yes, I have noticed this problem and originally thought the disc was bad because it was saying couldn't read cyclic redundany error. But now it's happened to too many discs:
The Forgotten
Resident Evil: Apocalypse
Hitch
and now Spanglish

Even with DVD Region+CSS Free v5.9.3.2 Spanglish only makes it to 58%. Have they updated the protection again?
Is AnyDVD better?

yodah ,
Welcome to the forum.
Those movie you mentioned are the new Arcoss Encryption that Sony uses and AnyDVD or DVDFAB Decrypter will also remove those encryptions.

The latest version of DVD43 also takes care of this. If you use DVD43, you need to update - the update came out on Aug. 18.
