I am trying to back up a dvd through nero but when I add the dvd to the add files area, nero can't read two or three basic .vob files (VTS_01_2.vob, VTS_01_3.vob and another one i think). The progress bar freezes momentarily and a msg box appears that reads: Can't read xxx.vob file. Although I can skip the file by pressing OK, the dvd produced eventually isn't working. A similar message appears when I try to copy the files to my desktop.
Note that the original DVD plays fine on my dvd player, no glitches whatsoever.

Any thoughts?

You'll find that any program can read those files if you place them into a VIDEO_TS folder first. It has to be named exactly like that - it's case sensitive.

The files are alrady on the DVD's VIDEO_TS folder.
I have also tried to decrypt using DVD Decrypter, but I get this error: http://users.ntua.gr/cv02095/error.JPG

This is the first time I encounter such problem. My first thought was that the DVD is physically damaged (there are indeed a few scratches behind), but shouldn't it present similar problems when playing it on the TV? It plays perfectly well.

Nevermind, I found it. Since this was a I/O error, I followed the advice found here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/183136 and used another DVD reader which was able to read through the damaged sectors. (Sony as opposed to LG :)

Thank you for your time though!!
