I downloaded the beta and was playing last night...a little buggy, but the final release is gonna freakin' rule!!!!!!!! this is awesome. i haven't been this excited since super nintendo came out

I'm sorry i don't have your excitment about the final release, but there's nothing new in the game, nothin revolutionary. Graphics are mediocre, gameplay boring, Seen this all before. I'm sure game mags are gonna have it all over the covers in the next weeks ahead, but at the end of the day, There's not much more they could do with the halo franchise except hype it up as much as you can.

Wow i want to know how u can say the graphics are mediocre are u like some sort of expert game maker? If u ask me they are the best graphics i have ever seen better than Gears of War. Although they dont really have as much blood and gore. But that is mainly because they know a bunch of little kids play the game and there is nothing they can do to stop that. And ur right though nothing too new ( Spartan lazer, Spiker, Spike grenade, Bubble shield, Shield Drainer, Mongoose, Portable turret, Trip mines, Portable grav lift, and not to mention they probably kept a bunch of stuff out of the beta so we could not see it they let the alpha testers test those things. But yeah nothing new. get a clue.

The water looks amazing, as does the real time wind on the plants.
LOVE the saved films, I can replay all my brute grenade sticks which rule by the way, and all my sweet laser kills!!!

i dont think they allow you to do that in the beta but i saw them doing it in a vid so it will most likely be in the final version.

Dude. The game has tons of new things in the game. (Bubble sheild, grav lift, power drainer, trip mine, spartan laser, turrents, weapons, etc.) So theres tons of new things. The grafics are revolutionary. From water effects, real time wind, etc. Grafics arnt trying to be human like, its a different kind of anesthetic there trying to design. You must not know much about halo at all. True that the Halo 3 graffics arent going to get too much better than the beta becuase its almost finished.

Wow i love how everyone has been bashing a BETA!!!!! A beta is just that. An incomplete partial representation of a game. Yes its true that most of the graphics have been equal to its predessesor, but as many people know all the correct enviroments for emulation and most of the games shaders and graphics have been toned down to a beta release. For example, when you look at the code of each map, you can see references to all the shaders and objects blah blah blah. But you also notice that a lot of things have been temporaraly borrowed from H2. This means that in final product or close to release, you will see a major difference in gameplay graphically as well as audio. Being the clever dogs they are, they know that most of us in the modding community will disect it to gain knowledge of other features in the game. Knowing this they purposely toned it down as to not reveal much more than they are comfortable with. Anyway, what the hell r u all bitchin about. At least Bungie and MS was nice enough to let you try it out for a couple weeks. We never got that treatment with the last 2 installments!

ya the grafics will be cool the reason that Halo 2 didn't get the atv and the new treds on the warthog was the grafics sucked they woulnt try it again unless the games grafics where alot better

dan, youre right. Many people are upset about the beta launch. becuase many people werent able to get on, including me. But then i thought something that many people forgot. its a BETA! not a demo. Things in the beta like what happend are supposed to happen. thats the reason they have the beta so bungie can get things fixed and find out the bugs with the help of 34213423525235 players!

Exactly. Sorry to hear you had trouble getting on as well. Yeah a lot of people tend to think that a BETA and a demo are one in the same. A beta game is kinda like a concept car. Tons of cool crap but almost none of it making to final product fruation. People just need to chill and wait to be blown away on the 25th.

i have been play the Halo 3 beta and i know 5 times i have clearly hit people in the back and they not die and then they turn around and kill,, mostly with a shotgun

The textures used on the maps in halo are crap. Doesn't match Gears of War at all.
If new weapons in a shoot em up is groundbreaking to you then halo is for you. For me something new that hasn't been done before, For Me Gears of War is a game that all shooter games should strive to become.

Get a grip, Halo 3 isnt like Gears of War, It has more lets see here um alein technology, not ruined cities like GoW, if you gonna keep saying the graphics suck, they leave this thread alone, i am both a GoW, and halo fan, halo is better multiplayer, GoW is better graphics, so shut up!

woah woah woah! Yes GoW may be a bit better graphically, but it all depends on what the developers were aiming for. I highly doubt Bungie was all like wow that is so what aliens and stuff look like. They kept the graphics to a happy medium and focused more on replay value and multiplayer. GoW doesn't hold a candle to the Halo franchise in that respect. Plus everyone is comparing to a.... let me say this again so everyone can hear me.... A BETA!!!!!!! But enough about all this crap, lets try to keep the thread on track from here on in! And please refrain from releasing any info about any code or tags and stuff from the beta, myself and other legit modders do not appriciate it!

I have no idea. If I had to guess, I would say you could probably stream it to your pc via media extender or something to that nature. Similar to sending video and audio to the 360, only backwards. Anyone else know how?

this is the last thing ill say about GoW vs h3- Like Danandjen said, "enviroments for emulation and most of the games shaders and graphics have been toned down to a beta release". So right there tells you these arnt even the graphics their going to be using. And Halo 3 has so much better gameplay you cant even drive vehicles in Gears of War its so repeated nothing new from game to game. And another thing i was playing BTB on H3 Valhalla and i saw some people getting out of the map so they showed me how. The next game i pushed a banshee outside the map and i flew it around the lake and everything then someone told me that i could fly to outerspace so i tried i flew for a while and the sky kept getting darker and darker and i got closer and closer to the clouds but i got shotdown by somthing and i fell back down to the map if any of you want to see the vid i will send it to u on h3 pm me if you want to know my GT. Thats just another thing that maked ahlo 3 better than any game i cant wait to play the campaign it going to be huge! And i really did like playing GoW for a while but of all of the beta's i have everplayed Halo 3 is defitly the master beta and the final game will be alot better yet.
