IMHO, you could easily do far better than 123CopyDVD.

Look into CloneDVD2 ~ it is a quality porgram that will work easily with either DVD Decrypter OR AnyDVD.

Why buy crap when you could have something good ?

CloneDVD2 (21-day trial, $39.00) a top-of the-line program with an excellent encoder, it requires only a CSS ripper to backup any DVD. A Best Buy

DVD Decrypter (FREE) though discontinued as of August 05', DVDD continues to be an excellent Decrypter for both ISO's and file formats and, as of this date, it's capable of cutting through every encryption bring used as well as being an excellent ISO burner.

AnyDVD (21-days trial, $39.00) a driver-type Decrypter, working in the background, needs no HD space and requires no action on your part. Both CD's and DVD's have their region settings and encryptions removed automatically. Constantly updated, it removes 100% of all CD and DVD encryptions. A Best Buy

Why cant you burn them to a disc? are you saying you want to make a backup of the programs on a disc? if so then burn a data CD and import the programs into it and burn. Dont finalize the disc that way if you want to backup more programs later on disc you can always put in that CD and then add the new programs to it. When you get the disc filled up then finalize it.

I think DVD Decrypter is an excellent proggy. I don't believe you can get better for the price (Lol :)

Since you asked, I did try using DVDCloner2 and, IMO, it falls into the same category as 123CopyDVD. Actually, I found it to be more an equal to ICopyDVDs2, a program that you can get bundled for $8.99 (USD). Once again, after having used it for several weeks, it is my opinion that it's not worth the $59.99 they ask for it, DVD Shrink will do a far superior job, and it is FREE.

It has been my personal experience that those below average copy programs have a plethora of copy and operational issues. I suggest you contact their support staff for a solution to your problem. You paid your $$$$ the LEAST they should is provide you with a workable program OR offer you a refund if you can't get it to work.

If you go the refund route, I suggest you re-read the post above OR try DVD Shrink along with you DVD Decrypter.

Pete

@larrylje,

I believe that our friends are burning DVD's and not SVCD's or VCD's. It's my experience, that all of the programs mentioned here aren't capable of writing to CD's UNLESS they all have released something new in the last month or two, if they have, then I apologize for this post.

I wasnt saying to burn SVCD or VCD lol
I agree with you ScubaPete about none of the programs above being able to make SVCD'S or VCD. I never stated they would.

It sounds like in his post above that he wanted to make a backup of the programs he bought and downloaded incase of a problem where he would lose them (hard drive faliure) etc.

So I explaned on how to make a copy of the programs on a disc for future use if needed.

@jazonburn, I'm with ScubaPete, I had Dvdcloner2 and used it for a while, yet found that CloneDvd2 had just better quality, even when compression was pretty high. I stick with Rebuilder Pro/CCE Basic (yet the free encoders that come with Rebuilder are superb!), Recode 2, Intercopy 3, and CloneDvd2...all have great quality...Rebuilder will be slower but the quality is worth it and when using batch mode it can do 3-4 projects throughout the night. Just my opinion, yet if it works for you great, the one thing I noticed about Dvd Cloner II was that it didn't transfer the DTS audio stream unless I did a complete Disk backup. There is no area to click whether or not that you want to have it or not...kind of a disadvantage for those (like myself) that want the DTS stream.

@ScubaPete...shrink is free and it's great...arniebear just got me hooked on Recode 2.

@larrylje,

Heh, Heh, I sea what you mean. I read it as he couldn't get the programs to burn to disc (Huuuummm, I'm sounding like our poster :)

I guess I was thinking that when he used the programs on a disc to be backed up, it wouldn't burn to disc.

As for backing up the program itself, I cannot sea a problem with backing it up to a CD. It s/b pretty straight forward.

@MovieDud,

I agree 100% with your assessment on the programs you've named.

I like Recode2 as well. It's a much misunderstood program that so many have with their Nero yet haven't availed themselves of. You might ask Anniebear BUT I think I was the one who steered her towards Recode :)

As for DVD Shrink, I've had it since the 3.0 beta 2 version and I use it to this day ~ frequently ! For episodel DVD's i.e. Sopranos, Wonder Woman, The Shield, The Wire and so many more. To backup an episodel disc such as those and have it perfect, time after time, DVD Decrypter to rip in the ISO Read Mode, DVD Shrink to compress and eliminate any Foreign languages then DVDD or CopyToDVD to burn to disc in an ISO image is a recipe that just cannot be beaten.

Cheers all,

Pete

Hi gwendolin, long time no chat,

Glad you're "sold" on Recode ~ Go out and spread the word ~(:D)

As for Cloner2 I don't have to tell most of you that it is basically a stolen older version of DVD Shrink. I guess I shouldn't say older version anymore as they recently "Updated" it to handle DL DVD discs. Their only problem is they don't use those things that make DVD Shrink great. That is Shrink's Deep Analysis and it's Quality Enhancement settings.

One would think that if they are going to steal some freeware and sell it for "Big Bucks" they would include those at, "No Additional Cost" (as the late night info-commercials always say).

For all those who spent $59.99 for stolen freeware, I can only say, if you paid by CC, then go get your money back. $59.99 for something that's FREE ? They should use a gun, it's cleaner that way.

Cheers all AND, if you have Nero anyway, you had better begin using DVD Shrink's "Big Brother," Recode2.

Pete

Thanks for all your help and info . Just to recap I have to use dvd decoder first to ripp the file to hardrive then use DVD Shrink to commpress the file so it will fit on disk. Then burn to dvd.
All this is intended to create a back-up disk for my dvd's.
How am I doing so far.
