Burned my first game (Madden 06) last night using Alcohol and seemed to copy ok with no error msg. After using Swap Magic for first time, I inserted the copied game and pressed X but it stated on the screen that it wasnt a PS2 game? Did the copy work or did I not do the swap magic right?

what did you use to make the image of the game, i use DVD Decrypter to make an iso then burn it with alcohol,

No- Alcohol was used with another application that was needed (cant remember the name). I have a v4 PS2 and did use Sony CD+R. Could the reasons be:
1- my media type? change to DVD-R? I did buy my PS2 the date it came out back in Oct 2000
2- using my Swap Magic, I pressed X however should I have pressed "square"?
3- was it a bad copy?

if your burning the image with cds its never goin to work, u need a dvd for a dvd game and same with cd games

What mod are you using in conjunction with swap magic? slide card or fliptop aftermarket case?

I'd suggest using DVD-R and burning at 4x just using DVD Decrypter in iso read mode and then iso write, or use Nero to burn the iso.

just installed fliptop to my version 4 last night. Have alot of noise coming from it and didnt know if this is normal. Does anyone know why this is?

Could be a few things. firstly, some of the fliptops are not great on build quality and so don't fit very well sometimews when the lid is down. make sure the lid is down properly after you've inserted the backup ps2 game. When you insert the ps2 game make sure that it goes under the lip inside. then if it still makes noise put a book or something on top, see if it's less noticeable.
If it's still pretty noisy, you might want to recheck that you installed it properly.
