yea dude i am having the same problem in my doorm. I can't figure it out either. The tech guy i think said it had something to do with sony and the dnas being weird so it probably wouldn't work. I know this doesn't help you at all.....but just letting u know your not alone!

Dude, change the ps2's settings for online gameplay etc. to PPPoE (Point To Point Protocol over Ethernet) and supply your pass and username, that should do the trick. report back here if it worked or not, since there might be even more others who have this problem.

The thing is, if the connection requires the username and pass to be set each time, your ps2 has to do the same *i had the same problem with my old cable provider* once i changed to PPPoE and input my username and pass, it worked...so, again, it could be that, not 100% sure, but it's worth the try right?

Geez, why is it no one can take a friggin joke anymore?
Lighten up man...
Anyway, to show that i just don't give a rat's ass, and to answer that question, you'd be surprised at how many people have cable or (a)dsl just to play online with a ps2 or xbox....
