I have forgotten how I did this. How to I burn a burned copy of a DVD onto DVD-r? Transfer the video files to HDD 1st then burn? I thought Nero or Shrink would do all this for me? Thanks for the never ending help!

Download DVD Decrypter from this site (it's free).

And click on the link in my sig, follow the guide.

Good Luck!

Sorry, re-read the post, you're just looking to burn an already burned copy. Yes, Nero can do this for you, go to their website: Nero.com and download/print/follow the instructions.

Happy Burning!

You can do it with Nero.

This is what I would do.

Open Nero Burning ROM and select "DVD Copy" from the icons on the left.

On the Copy Options tab, uncheck "On the fly" unless you want to try it, read the warning.

Make sure the drive with your original is selected. While you are at it, make sure your burner is selected at the upper right.

On the Read Options" tab, set the Fast Copy Settings to DVD-Video, set the error correction to slow and safe and then check the "Ignore read error" box. If Nero runs across an error you should probably continue rather than just make a coaster.

On the "Burn" tab, check that the "Write" box is checked, set your write speed. (I'd use 4X)
Select "Copy" in the upper right corner to start the process.

That's about it. The settings are self-explanatory for the most part.

I use nero's copy disc feature and sometimes dvd decrypter in iso mode. If the nero copy disc-on the fly method doesn't work out:

Try dvd decrypter-open it up/Mode ISO read to hard drive/ Mode ISO write/click on small folder icon/locate that mds file/open it and click burn icon. Since your backups are already compressed to size, the ISO read and write should do the trick. Let us know if it doesn't work out. Many members have trouble with re-ripping their backups. Good Luck

Thank you all for your help. Instead I used Nero Burn Video files feature and selected them from the drive. Burned them directly from one drive to the other at 4x speed.

I have several DVD's on my hard drive (E:\). I bought a DVD-R to transfer them to. I have used DVD Shrink, Nero, DVD Decrypter, firestorm, and SmartRipper and for all they say that their is "no disc in drive". I don't know what to do. They work when i put in cd's. Can someone please help me. Thanks

As I have been told on the fly is not the best method. However, if it works it is the easiest way. I opened Nero and "burned a dvd using video files". Selected the files off my rom or in your case HD and it worked fine. If your files have a copyright on them your going to have to use shrink. I got the same message (no cd in drive) before using this method. Are you sure their on your HD? you siad their on your E drive. C is normally your HD and E is normally your cd-rom.

On the fly: Ripping right off my dvd-rom drive onto my burner drive,no files going to the harddrive. How?
Anydvd by slysoft running in the background! It's a sweet background ripper to pull off encryptions, updated regularly, works with DVD Shrink and most other programs, and no extra step needed!

Not advisable! I just do it every now and then out of complete boredom and 100% success!
Majority of movies are DVD-9 so they have to be compressed so on the fly is no option unless you really want to risk dual layer blank media.

On the fly is where quality is the key. Quality media and quality burner. I wouldn't risk that process on my other peice of crap DVD-RW drives, too many little errors.

If your DVD-RW drive is capable of dual format and bitsetting, then definitely the plus format.

This bitsetting allows some burners to booktype the plus format, and turn them into dvd-rom. Dvd rom is the more universal format. It usually comes down to stand alones/game consoles/and pc drives compatability. Some of these will read the dash/plus/both/on neither of those formats.By booktyping, you fool those other drives into playing your backups.

What is the brand name and model# of your DVD-RW drive?
