I highly doubt it, and if there is such a program, it's news to me.

I would assume manipulation of pixels would be involved i,e resolution. However, that just doesn't sound practical. That's probably why there are two (2) formats: Widescreen and Fullscreen.

Sorry.

Why would you want to do that anyway? Widescreen is the way to go. It still baffles me why some people prefer full screen to widescreen.

steve37,
I am sure somewhere out there, there is a program that will convert Wide to Full screen but you will have to re-encode the DVD in my opinion as the film will now be elongated. You might try the local video store or the internet to see if there was a full screen version of the movie released

js78,
Most people that still want Full screen to so because they have not purchased a Widescreen TV. They are waiting for the full screen TV to die. I have 5 Tv's in the house 2 Widescreens and 3 full screens and I am waiting for the Fulls to die but they are like the Energizer Bunny. They work , and work..... LOL

I pesonally have both tv's, but to be honest i watch movies in widescreen mode and tv o the full screen. The major thing i hate about widescreen is peoples heads seem so wide. On a full screen, it looks much more realistic....

wide-screen literally gives you more movie for your money. both wide-screen and full-screen formats are cropped versions of what plays in theaters, but the wide-screen are cropped far less, giving you more of what you want to see.

as said before, if the black bars are bothering you, simply zoom in. presto: full-screen appearance, with the ability to go back to wide-screen should you ever want to see a movie in a format closer to the way it was intended to be viewed.

if you absolutely must convert wide-screen to full screen, you simply need to find a program capable of cropping video footage. even Nero can do this, i believe.

dingus: if the heads seem stretched on a wide-screen tv, it sounds to me like you're watching a full-screen image that's been stretched to fit. do a search here, and you should find ways around this so that you see the movie/show in its proper proportions.
