yo everyone i had posted in a forum but no one answered so here my bridging problems.

1. I have commview 5 but i have no idea how to use it, and when i am on xbox live it doesnt show their IP address on commview, i might now have my bridge set up right, i dunno.

2. I read one of the tut's and it said i needed ZoneAlarm Pro, i downloaded the trial version and i couldnt install it because i already have McAfee so it says their are issues and im not allowed to get rid of McAfee.

3. Can some one better desrcibe to me the whole thing with forcing host because the other one i had no idea wat he was talking about.

i would really appreciate if people would help me!

IF YOU LOVE HALO 2 AND MODDING GO HERE http://www.leakedhalo.cjb.net

Xbox: $300

Used Xbox Because Other One Broke: $130

Here is the really good tut!:
The correct way to connect your xbox to your computer to play on xbox live is exactly the way i say it.
Requirements:

Xbox
Computer with OS ME or higher
System Link Cable(or Cat5 Crossover)
Ethernet port in computer

To start hook your xbox to your computer using the system link cable. If running windows XP go to Network Connections and look to the left of the folder and click "Set up a home or small office network". After clicking the setup will popup then you will want to click next, then next again, (you may need to ignore any disconnected connections) then press next again, Then it will say "Select the statement that best describes this computer" and it gives you some options. In this case just choose " This computer connects directly to the internet. Th other computers on my network connect to the internet through this computer." and then click next. Then you will need to choose your current internet connection, after you have chosen press next. Then it will ask you to choose which connections connect this computer to another computer (will probably be local area connection), after choosing press next. Then add a computer description(it has examples) and computer name(also has examples) then click next, now it is asking you to create a workgroup name (just chose MSHOME) then click next. It doesn't matter if file sharing is on or not it will work either way so just turn it on and click next, then next again. It will start setting up files then it will ask you to create setup disk, Click "Just finish the wizard without creating disk" and press finished.

After all that effort of reading my bad spelling and clicking next so often you will have to go to network setting on xbox and put everything on automatic and it should work.

Note: the same process lets you use dialup on xbox live...

Here is the OK tut!:

You have to have a network bridge set up between you xbox and your pc. Plug a crossover cable into your xbox then plug it into your pc. Now your pc MUST have either another ethernet port or have a wireless connection. Connect to the internet using the other ethernet port or your wireless router. (NOTE: its better to have another port because if you use wireless...you will LAG ALOT! even lag out of games) Now open network connections on you computer. You should have 2 connections to the internet, either 2 LAN connections or a LAN and wireless connection. Bridge them together by holding ctrl and clicking on them and selecting bridge connections (make sure that your xbox is turned on so there is a connection passing through them) Both connection have to be ENABLED to do this. Enable by rightclicking on them before you set up the bridge and choose enable. Now give it a min to work itself out, and try to sign onto xbox live. If you are able to, then you have done it right and you are bridged!!!!

The next part is tricker and I WILL NOT go into full depth on it. Again I figured to out and I also don't want everone and their mama to be bridging on live. Ok, you MUST have a program to view Remote IP addresses (I use commview) and a good firewall(ZoneAlarmPro, not the basic version). Go into a party with your friend that you want to bridge for(NOTE: you force host to one other person, you cannot do it for yourself!) Have commview open and captureing. You should see your friedns remote IP address. If you are unsure, look at the port number and find 3074. That is anything coming through xbox live.
Now here is the part were im am going to get a bit hazy. You can figure it out for yourself, its not hard. I will get you started.
You have to find the 3 remote IP for xbox live. If you block any of them, you will not be able sign on. Go to ZoneAlarmPro and go to the zones tab in the firewall. Open a new IP Range. There will be a total of 5 new ranges altogether. For the first set the begining of the range to 0.0.0.0. then set the next ip to either your friend remote ip address or the first address of xbox live, whichever is lower. You also only need the begining of the IP address.

For Ex:
Zone: Blocked
IP: 0.0.0.0.
IP: 24.21.0.0 (MADE UP! not xbox live, you can try if you want)
Description: 1
Then you would finish out that IP address and begin the new one
EX:
Zone: Blocked
IP: 24.21.255.255
IP: xbox.live.0.0
Description: 2

You do this will all 3 of the xbox IP's. There will be a total of 5 ranges.

Once you have that all done, make use your firewall is set on medium in bothe the internet and trusted zones. Have you friend make a party and you join. As long as he is the party leader he will get host. Don't get frustrated if you are waiting on 1 and 2 for 45 mins though, your the one who is blocking EVERYBODY else's Remote IP's.

If you are able to figure it out from here (if have given you all the tools to do so) then congrats. I suggest you don't let everyone and their mama know, you will see why as you are waiting forever in the matching room. If you are not able to figure if out, I am more than willing to teach you, but if will cost you. No advertizing in here though, find my AIM in the forums under similar subjects and we will get on xbox live. Have fun out there in your non-modded, non-standbyed games!
