Okay, I scraped up enough to buy a DVD burner and now I need to know the best software for converting AVI to DVD. I have nero so burning the resulting video files won't be a problem. Oh and these are feature length films I want to burn, if that makes a difference.

Just remember I'm a newbie and all this talk about bit rates and streams makes my head spin, I'm just wondering which is the fastest, has the best quality, and won't leave me pulling my hair out.

Forgot to add, I'm trying a program called "All Video to Vcd Svcd and DVD" which is so far very slow but hopefully worth it. Has anyone heard of it?

Thanks!

First of all, welcome to the dvd burning club! *_*

For burning avis, you may use VSO DivXtoDVD (free version) to convert the avis into dvd compliant format, then burn with Nero:

Simple?!

i use film machine with an outside encoder called CCE but they have there own built in! also does PAL / NTSC / compress to fit etc...

Nothing here to see, move along folks.

i personally use film machine as this app has a boost audio feature, which helps on some TV volume issues, you just tick it...
