Unfortunately being new to burning disks etc. I have locked myself out of my dvd drive because i have a region 4 and someone gave me some region 1 disks. It says i can change it one more time but the damn thing wont do it. I downloaded AnyDvd and used the 21 days free trial and it worked brilliantly but anyway i was just wondering if i take my dvd burner out and buy a new one will it solve my problem?.

I have no trouble with dvd shrink, i love it and it is easy for me to use because i cant understand any of the technical stuff that is talked about on this site lol. Thank you to anyone who answers my query.

You have 2 choices here: See if the burner can be hacked to get rid of the lock: try this site http://forum.rpc1.org/portal.php
or
when you install the new burner it should be re-set to 5 changes which you will then use 1 whenever you do your first burn.

Thanks for that, i cant find any code, but i will buy a new burner and learn from my expensive mistake. Im just glad i can solve this easily as i love having backups of my disks.

Maybe by doing a firmwar update this would solve the issue as well on the old burner.
