Hey Jalathole no probs man, do you mean the one SXT released and then got people to test it, then backtracked when it turned out a huge percentage of psps were being bricked, but you're right, i think it's because they weren't using virgin 1.5's, mine isn't, 1.52 orignally unfortunately :(

Custom FW, now that's what i'm talkin bout, awesome indeed!

Oh, and if anyone ever gets on the forums at psp411, don't mention anything at all to do with homebrew lol, the moderators on that site are friggin bordering on fascists 8^|P

Ah, good question, i was never too sure if it meant originally a 1.5, or originally a 1.5 that had never had it's FW touched (thus the virgin analogy i guess, lol). Let me do some searching, are you going to try it? Now that would be a ballsy move lol. :)

Do you know anyone who's tried that exploit to get 2.0's working on 1.5's using the file from a 1.5 game, bit more to it than that ofcourse, but have read a few places that they got hustle streets working no probs on the 1.5, but that was a few daze ago, and knowing how people jsut like to be pricks, may have been fake... Gonna go look now.

Guess I should've clarified, in my earlier question I was referring to UMD MOVIES. I know the games are region free, can UMD emulator allow you to watch region 1 movie UMDs on a region 2 PSP, is my question. I know I can put movies on the card, which xilisoft PSP video converter can't seem to shrink a 700mb movie enough to fit on my Sandisk 512, i'm looking into bigger storage options though.

Thanks for any assistance.

edit, sorry put krypto's name instead of drunken1, i think someone said earlier in this thread that you can use different regino coded umd's using umdemulator, but not on the japanese ones? Not sure, the only umd i own was the free spiderman 2 they sent me for registering, i convert all my movies from dvd to divx, then to mp4. long winded pain in the arse method, but it allows me to watch Be The Mask on the move, lol :)

Hello, i see alot of people are having problems downgrading there PSP, here a simple step by step info.

This will allow all PSP owners who have upgraded their PSP to v2.0 to downgrade all the way back to v1.5. (this version will allow using homebrew applications) Also if you have v1.51 or v1.52, you will need to upgrade up to v2.0 and then you will be able to downgrade. If you do downgrade from v2.0 you will always be able to bring back v2.0 by doing the standard update procedure once again.

To downgrade do the following: (read entire post first! notes @ bottom)
?Create the X://PSP/GAME/UPDATE directory if it doesn't exisit.
?Copy EBOOT.PBP (v1.50) into X://PSP/GAME/UPDATE folder.
?Unzip the PSPdowngrade.zip package and open the folder.
?Copy overflow.tif into X://PSP/PHOTO/ folder.
?Then coFinally copy index.dat into root folder as well (X://index.dat)
?Make sure your AC adaptor is connected.
?In your PSP enter the Photos section, which will launch a little app.
?You will need to wait ~30 seconds and then restart your PSP.
?Then finally Game Menu and launch the v1.5 updater (downgrade).
?Follow instructions and then at 99% an error should popup.
?Thats normal so just restart the PSP and it should show an error.
?Now restart the unit one more time and the PSP should be ready.

i followed everyones instuctions and i am currently using UMD Emulator 0.8c and I am having a hard time successfully loading a game that was in a bunch of .r00*'s, this is what I did to attempt to load them....

1) Loaded UMD Emulator with settings set to this...
333/166 MHz
ISO Emu Mode: System Menu
Disc type ISO/UMD: Game
Updater icon: memstick
Boot bin: on
regioncode override: on
flash0 emu : on
flash1 emu : on

2) At the main menu, i do Game --> UMD Disc --> Select the loaded game
(For example, Madden 06' got to its "Loading..." screen, then shutdown after 10 seconds) (But King Kong didn't even get past the White PSP loading screen. I gave me this message "THE GAME COULD NOT BE STARTED. (FFFFFED3)).

3) Can anyone help me out? The games didnt come with any README's that helped me solve this issue

Thanks

Jeez, lol, i don't know about you guys, all you have to do to get madden to work is system load it, ie choose system load from the boot type menu in umd emulator 0.8c. Ofcourse the update folder should be turned off, it should always be turned off. How could you not even try a different boot option and just come running crying for help here? and it's also been stated in a few other forums that king kong won't work on 1.5's, maybe that'll change, it's only been outa while, and i don't like to take others words for it, i mean look at how you guys couldn't even change the boot type to get a game to work... haha, joking ofcourse, congrats on getting it sorted in the end. Not joking about king kong tho unfortunately.

WELL.. I tried setting it up as stated above.. NO LUCK. Goes right to PSP menu instead of loading.-- settings are on umd emu v0.8c--- 333/sysmenu/game/game/remove/on/off/(regionfree_x3)/off/off-- those are the settings on the right. When i load, I can hear the UMD click, then it goes to the PSP menu screen. ANY HELP, IDEAS, CLUES, PLEASE..

LOL, dude, it's supposed too, you then scroll up to umd game and instead of your demo disc it will think madden is in the umd drive, simply click it and off you go, awesome! You do know that you need a umd in there tho hey? edit, yeah you do cause you can hear the drive click. If it didn't work you wouldn't get to the psp os screen, it would hang at umd emulator screen. i was going to say yuo need to do some research on this shit, but i spose you are right now...lol. System menu boot means it boots you back to the psp screen you speak of (the psp system menu), and then it's "tricked" the psp to think the iso on your mem card is actually in the umd drive, a fairly common mistake to make, so don't worry.

Yeah bro, that's all there is too it. The system boot option, click on your game, be booted back to the psp system menu, then scroll up to UMD, too easy.
