hi im a newbie to the ps2 stuff, I have a ps2 that i got when they first came out, i havent played it for a long time because when i push the power button it goes green but nothing comes up on the tv, then i go to reboot by holding the button but it doesn't reboot ether, so to turn it off i have to hit the switch in the back. is this mean it broken or what, is there anyway to fix it?

so your tellin me that when you start your ps2 nothing comes, but when you try to make it go in standby mode that doesnt work either and the only way to turn it off is by the main switch in the back

yes thats what it does and i took it apart and made sure everything was connected and it was.

better check the wire that that is near the power switch, maybe thats loose

Sounds like the motor is gone. Do a search on the web for parts and see if you can get another motor unit. However, it may be time to invest in a new unit. Sorry

what motor are you talking about and i had a slim ps2 but i traded it for a psp
