I only have a few .AVI video files on my PC and am anal about keeping backups (which has served me well in the past) the trouble is I have a 80Gb Backup drive and a 130 Gb Working drive and the (approx 10 2hr video files total 60 + gig! (together with edited vesions) What is the best way of ensuring a solid, quick access reliable way to store these files without losing quality and free up my HDD's. Shall I keep DVD file structures, .AVI files (or other format) and what is the best means / software for doing that?

Thanks.

you could burn the data to a DVD-RW dual layer in data format that would hold 8.5gb per disk

Well what i have just done is written over 100 gigs of AVI files to dvd and bought myself a 500 disc cd wallet and store them in there, with a cd cover in the sleeve to say whats on the disc.

I also keep them on a seperat hd, but you neva know when your hd is gonna screw up on you..

Thats my advice

Kyle,
Cheers for that, I think thats the route I'll take. I might even splash out and get a new PC with SATA and back up my DVD's on my IDE drives (if my bank manager will let me lol)!

@calhounm
Your image is not appearing because you have [IMG] change that to lower case [*img] and it should end with [*/img] that will correct your image display problem. You have to edit your sig line. * take the * out of the lower case example i gave you. Oh, and i went to that link you had, and it is not going to display an image.
