My problems with backing up PS2 Games

I use Princo DVD-R disks, 1x 2x and 4x Suitable for Data and Video to backup single layer ps2 games. GT4 I think is about 6gb so I bought a Imation DVD+R DL 8.5GB Double Layer $10/disk. I copied it through Nero and it worked, but doesn't work on my PS2. I've seen a lot of people had problems with GT4 so would anyone know if it maybe is my blank disk? I'm trying to look for DVD-R 8.5GB Double Layer do they exist?

you can try to rip gt4 to a dvd5 and burn on a regualr single layer dvd.
